My creative writing group are mainly storytellers, but we also have non-fiction writers and a couple also dabble occasionally in poetry. This weeks promptWhere is my car?proved a challenge for this would be poet on a number of levels– a cold, workmen in my house, the first week of ModPo2018.*****************************************************************************************************Laying new flooring men banging awayHead beating in time all through the dayUnder the weather, work piling highLife in absentia passing on byA garden of weeds flourishing a paceA kitchen of crockery laying in wasteArrhythmic sleeping disturbing VersaillesSinuses screaming like LoreleiWords on the page floating unlinedGuaifenesin trying to clear the slimeThought constipation blocking up ProseMeanings lost like the scent of the roseThe week weakly wandering wistfully swaysSmidgeons of sleep showering the daysPillowed in air moistening in mistDreaming of Emily dashing her This -Wild nights, wild nights as never seenPoetry dawdling on in quarantineLinctus medicating verseThe well is dry, no ink dispersedNo words conveyed, no thought carriageNo mind and pen in heavenly marriageNo freeing of form, no quantum shiftWhere is my car?still lies adrift.© Sheila Ash, 2018ashramblings
