Well I woke up early and was really excited today. I’m not quite sure why…well I do…it was because it was someone’ birthday and most importantly I felt healthy again. So I got ready and headed for the internet café. I spent an hour there trying to get through but the connection just wouldn’t work and it was making me crazy so I just calledStella and told her Ill be joining them for lunch. I felt really deflated and upset but she soon talked my spirits up as we walked to Julius’ house for the first time. When we got there, Julius took out all of the wonderful ingredients he had and I took charge in the kitchen. I cooked onions and garlic and ginger, then vegetables like carrots and green beans and tomatoes and finally added tilapia and made it into a spicy yummy stew and made rice to go with it. It was really fun cooking there and we all sat down and ate together. We talked and joked around and it was just an enjoyable time. Paul (another Ugandan volunteer) who was working a half day at the office came by right when we were finished eating and we made food for him again and he really appreciated it and said it’s the best meal he’s eaten all year! At around 5 Stella was supposed to go to some meditative retreat by the lake so we all left the house and Paul, Julius and I went to a local spot where they could watch the Arsenal or Chelsea or God knows what football match. I sat with them for a little while but football is just too boring for me so after I finished my drink I just headed to the internet café again to see if I could get a connection this time. Thankfully I could. I got to grant my birthday surprise. That was fun.I did not stay long because I wanted to avoid walking home in the dark so I just left and went home and spent the evening relaxing at home, talking on the phone and just went to sleep.
