Exactly three long weeks after I returned the Placement Analysis Form (PAF in short), and only a few days after the final - and way too early - goodbye to my aunt, who was one of my greatest supports in all my (travel& working abroad) plans, I got the stress-relieving message of 'acceptance'. Acceptance to work as a specialist in local development for the 'Ministère de l’Administration territoriale et de la décentralisation' in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. The news is still unofficial. The Minister himself - my future boss - still has to put his signature on the document to make it official, but according to the people involved this is only a formality and....(I quote)"The Program support officer has already started to set up Belinda’s home."Cool :-)!And so here I am and it has only just started to dawn on me that I am actually going to live and work in Africa for probably the next couple of years and that I am leaving exactly one month from now, to the day (Valentine's day is never gonna be the same again!), and that I still have a million-billion-zillion things to do before then and that, at the same time, I find it hard to keep my mind from wandering over there already and that I am going to miss some of my stuff, but especially people who are staying behind and....my head feels like a dangerous explosive ('handle with care')31 days to go and counting down....
