It's carnival season and today we had a fabulous parade in my village of Villa San Pietro. So, after a delicious BBQ in glorious sunshine, which by the way was finished off with my delicious home-made limoncello (see previous entry), we headed off to watch the parade.Savouring the limoncelloI wanted to see some of my teenage students who I knew would be part of the floats as they eagerly reminded me last week. There were some colourful creative costumes but one of my favourite floats was the Sardinian aircraft translated from the Sardinian language asWingless airlines I also loved the one which seemed to be having a dig at Berlusconi'The law is not the same for everyone' written across this one..how true that is!ThePuffiwere so cute, I was a dedicated fan of the Smurfs when I was a kid and my very first LP was a Smurf record when I was about 5..I think I've still got it somewhere.I PuffiIt wasn't exactlyRiohowever it was entertaining, lively and good fun for the kiddies. I noticed that the men dressed as women seemed to really enjoy themselves....perhaps a secret desire to dress in women's clothes..who knows!
