We took a car to see two of the churches outside of Lalibela today. We saw one built under a cave and another where they have holy bees where they make holy honey. The priest gave us some honey to taste. They honey is supposed to rid you of madness. The priest then tried to get us to take some away with us– he obviously thought we were very mad - but as we had nothing to carry it in he tried to put it in our hands!We headed back and sampled our first Ethiopian food in Ethiopia which was lovely. Then we went on a search for cake which eventually proved fruitful. And as the bill said- it was only 33 Birr!The priestThe honey priestLunchOnly thirty three Birr
