I went to aerobics twice this week- exercise is always good to get rid of frustration! On Friday, Judy and I headed to Kigali for a weekend of food, fun and friends! After spending the evening watching Friends and eating food we got up early on Saturday to go to the African Bagel Company for coffee and doughnuts. We were so excited we ended up arriving before it opened! We had an exceptionally relaxing morning where we were joined by many friends. Roisin, Judy and I then headed to the Novotel to get out hair cut. It wasn’t as bad as I feared and my hair is not too wonky! However, there was a little confusion about whether the price included them drying our hair- it turns out it didn’t. So Judy and I ended up drying each other’s hair in the hairdressers, much to the amusement of the other customers, and ourselves! We then headed to an event to support Azizi Life, where we met up with Pauline and other friends. It was called Only One Basket and was organised by Beauty of Rwanda. We were then fortunate enough to get a lift to Heaven where we were able to grab very good seats for that evening’s film ‘No Strings Attached’. The film wasn’t great- it was very predictable and I got bored half way through- but the eat all you want buffet coupled with the wine and popcorn was superb! We then headed to Republic for drinks before retiring to the VSO dorm.Sunday, Judy, Pauline and I lost track of time as we chatted into the morning. We then headed to Shocolat where we met up with Karen, Christi, Emma and Vanessa. Another very good (but very expensive!) weekend in Kigali.
