The Dispute Resolution Foundation (DRF) fielded its finest players in the recent 5-a-side soccer game at the Mona hockey fields. There will be no disputing that at the end of the season we will be the champions. The only hope the other teams will have would be if hurricanes stop play and the games are deemed to be draws.Gradually the players started arriving and also DRF's finest spectators. Our coach is at the end of the bench, and the players from left to right are Devon and Michael. The yellow and blue are the official DRF colors for this tournament. Karen is behind the bench. The brave person with the sling is the referee. We politely declined the referee with the eye patch. The photo also shows Clifford with his back to us, and Varun over to the right.Still the spectators were outnumbering the players. This small group has the three Canadian facing the camera - John, Helen and Rafael, while DRF's executive admin assistant Karen has her back to it, but we see her face in the next photo and in one of the previous ones too. She was our major spectator. This picture was from behind the goal netting - a safe place if you are not watching the ball 100% of the time. The ceremonial hand shake at the beginning of the game to show the two opposing teams are friends. I did have a blurry picture of one the the DRF players later prone on the ground -friends can do this to you. Our player recovered. Here is a team photo before the game even started. Maybe this is a sensible precaution in case not everybody survives the friendly game. Players not identified from before from left to right are Jerome, Sean (not 100% sure on the spelling) and Orlando, with Montana the goalie at the front.Spectators gradually increased as the game continued. New to this picture are Mel, reading, and Noreth, standing. During the game, Noreth provided lots of motivation for the players as she went up and down the line. Here are some of the players having a well-earned rest at half time. I just noticed that I did not get any action photos of the game. Maybe next time.Another DRF spectator is Terrie standing behind Mel. An invisible spectator is our CEO Donna Parchment Brown who was around to organize the team photo at the end but did not turn up on any of the photos.Clifford ran interference on one of the group photos so he ended up with a good photo of himself - maybe that was his plan. And finally the team photo at the end.And for all of you who had bets on this game. The final score was a draw 1-1. Great game guys!Readers will be relieved to note that there are no fewer team members in this photo compared to the original one - everyone survived.
