Whilst on Chia beach the other day we noticed a group of people had gathered together by the bushes and  they appeared to be watching something going on. It turned out to be a flamingo in distress and the observers were not quite sure what to do. One man who was sitting near us decided to take it in his arms and tried to sooth it somehow. However, he eventually handed it over to the local forest rangers who had driven up to our beach bay,Cala Cipolla, and they drove off with it. I'm not sure what happened to it after that....Chia is another part of the island which is home to many flamingos. As you drive along the road overlooking the beach at Chia you can glimpse them wading in the lagoon which nestles between the sandy beach and grassy area. Flamingo in distress My sister attempted to try baking her homemade Pizzas in our outside wood oven. We usually use it for roasting meat on a spit, last night however after cooking chunks of beef we put the pizzas on trays over the hot ashes and they cooked in a few minutes....not bad for a first attempt. Well done Angela.Beef roastingPizza christeningSeptember has started off VERY humid, I'm hoping it clears over the next few days. Re the tourist industry August does not seem to have been as busy as usual in this area.
