We set off early this morning taking a drive up to Glacier Point to start our trek for the day. Yosemite is absolutely beautiful and being in awe at the scenery is something I felt for the whole two week journey of the entire trip. Glacier point is at 3000m, it felt quite chilly and we were lucky to find snow on the ground in places. It had snowed a few days previously. One view from Glacier Pointand anotherWe descended the Panama Trail which took us down to Illiloutte Fall at which point the trail started to ascend. We didn't meet many other trekkers so you could really sense the peace in the valley.Illilouette FallWe trekked up to Nevada Fall at which point it started to rain lightly. This made the trekking a bit more dangerous as the rocks became very slippery on the descents. The descent from now on was rather steep and I felt a little anxious about falling, a walking pole would have been useful! This part of the trail seemed to be more popular as from now on we would encounter other walkers.Nevada FallThe next part of the trek took us along the Mist Trail to Vernal Fall. It is so called as the trail is misty due to the water cascades with the possibility of seeing rainbows. We didn't see any though as it was cloudy and raining. The weather conditions did not affect the beauty of the place, the cloud gave it a more mystical feel. Once at Vernal Fall I was horrified to see a notice with the photos of a young couple who had gone missing presumably falling over the fall. Our guide had warned us not to take a dip in the water.....I'm not sure why anyone would want to as it was obviously dangerous to do so.Looking down Vernal FallWe finally finished the trek after 7 hours, all of us feeling a little weary. Our legs were stiff and sore for the following two days. Getting in and out of the van after that wasn't easy!
