Today I chose to take it easy and do an easy walk due to the fact that I was sick during the morning drive and was feeling a little tired after yesterday's trek. I was fine after being sick....somehow I didn't digest the morning breakfast! We drove through Yosemite, stopping off for a quick look at crystal clear Tenaya lake.Tenaya lakeMeditation spot Soda SpringsWe then drove on to Tuolumne meadows where we had a choice to do 3 hikes. I opted for a nice easy stroll along to Soda Springs. The views by the river were completely soothing and a few of us just sat and did our own thing contemplating the beauty of the place. I found a perfect spot by the river and meditated...I got myself a burnt red nose in the process! After lunch we drove over Tioga Pass (3000M) and descended down to Mono Lake apparently the saltiest lake in the world....it's saltier than the dead sea. It's a fascinating lake with limestone formations sticking up which are called Tufa towers. As you come to the lake shore you notice what look like layers of black dirt but is in fact just thousands of flies nestling by the edge. As you get near them they rise up and fly around.Mono Lake
