This morning I walked the Emerald Pool trail at Zion. It's just a short trek taking only 1hr 20 from Zion Lodge within the park. The views along the trail are beautiful and as I set off early there were very few people around, it felt really peaceful.Near start of trailLooking up The sandy and rocky path leads up to three pools at different levels. It's only the last one which has an emerald feel to it. There were lots of squirrels at the top around the pool, they were probably after the peanut butter apples which a man perched by a rock was delightfully eating for breakfast. The last emerald poolWe left Zion at midday and headed straight for Bryce Canyon arriving to get views of it from Sunset Point. For me Bryce was the most enchanting of all the parks I visited on the trip. As you view the red stone monoliths you can truly sense the earth energy that they come from. It's not surprising that they are called Hoodoos meaning to cast a spell, supposedly deriving from the word Voodoo. If they cast any spells then they're only positive as the feeling you have when looking into the canyon is only one of serenity.Me with Bryce backdrop  Capturing sunsetWe watched sunset and it was beautiful to see how the rocks captured the change in light within the canyon. To be honest there are now words to describe the view, you really need to be there to get the whole feel of the place, it's truly awesome.
