This morning we trekked into Bryce Canyon. The red rock is so vibrant it is just fantastic. We descended along part of the Peekaboo trail then headed up the canyon along the wall street part of the Navajo trail. This brought us out at the point where we watched sunset the previous evening. The last part of the trail was quite challenging but absolutely worth the climb. In Bryce CanyonWall street part of Navajo trailWhilst in Utah I noticed what I thought were quite strict laws. For example, a couple of members of our group ordered alcohol in a cafe'/bar place in Zion. They were told that it is the law to order food within an hour of consuming alcohol. I also was surprised to see notices in the restrooms saying'It is state law to wash your hands after using the facilities' I obviously agree about the importance of hand washing but to make it law seemed a bit extreme to me! I'm sure it's all due to the fact that Utah is Mormon Country... Surely we should give people some credit for common sense! After lunch we walked along Rainbow Point to see the oldest living tree on the planet...Bristlecone Pine. It is believed they can live up to 5000 years and can survive prolonged drought. The one I saw at Bryce is 1,600 years old.Bristlecone Pine
