Just a 10 minute drive South from my house you come across some beautiful coastline along Santa Margherita di Pula. This time of year there are no tourists so the shores are quiet and really peaceful especially during the week. There is a lovely walking route along a narrow tarmacked lane which runs along the seashore from the Flaming Hotel. As you stroll along the lane you have the beach at your side and the sea rolls in smoothly most of the time. However, over the last few weeks we have had some stormy weather and you can see where the ocean has churned up all the seaweed. As I walked along there today I was quite surprised by just how much of the stringy stuff has piled up.Churned up seaweed.Despite the stormy weather we are experiencing above average temperatures for November. It still feels quite warm and on a sunny day it's like the spring. I love this walk along the coast, it takes me about an hour and half to do a 7km round trip. In the past I would often drive and park up here to jog the route in about 45 mins. These days I use a different jogging route direct from my front door! As you walk along there are views of pine trees and mountains on the opposite side of the sea. Tucked away under the trees are several camp sites used mainly in the spring and summer. The lush treesWalking along today the sea didn't look very rough there were only a few high waves and yet it emanated an incessant rumbling noise which was so loud. It must have been very rough further out. The birds weren't bothered by that though as they were chirping away in the trees. It was an amazing contrast of sounds.Facing North I finished the walk at sunset and tried to capture the bright orange coloured sky which looked fantastic. Sunset behind the treesAnd then just as I was getting back into my car the sky changed again to a bright pink with orange...fabulous! Isn't nature just fascinating?Sunset
