Today isFesta Nationalein Italy which celebrates the ending of fascist rule in Italy since 25th April 1945.What a beautiful day it is for a national holiday, lovely sunshine and clear blue skies with temperatures in the low 20Cs. The view today from the mountains in Villa San Pietro show how close we are to the coastline.View from the mountainsAnother viewanotherI love these views as it's so peaceful up by the mountains and you can get such a panoramic view of the surrounding area. I love the contact with nature it has such a soothing quality about it. These past few months whenever I look at trees they seem to have such a vibrant quality to them which I never used to notice before. I can really sense the life in trees which makes me somehow feel connected to them....I feel this is due to getting away from the 'rat race' of life and having a more tranquil lifestyle. It has helped me become more in tune with myself and know the deeper essence of who I am. I think quite often we can become so wrapped up in our 'thinking' mind of how things should be, I should this or that or life should be this or that which means we actually don't notice enough of what is really going on around us, we forget to notice what life is. Once you start letting go of incessant thoughts you can actually allow life to just flow naturally and just steer yourself through life instead of trying to make it something you 'believe' it should be. You become more in tune with it and start to appreciate the wonder of it all. I have so much I want to say on this idea of living our truth that I have decided to write about it in another blog. Once I get going I'll put the link onto this one.On another note, with today being the anniversary of the ending of the second world war in Italy it is ironic that Italians are also suffering their worst economic crisis since the war. News reports tell us daily how families in Italy are not making it, on a financial level, to the end of the month. Sadly there has been a big increase in the number of suicides too. There is a strong sense of frustration among people and the economic situation always seems to be a topic of conversation! However, none of us truly know where all this will lead to, that remains to be seen.
