WHO am I interning with?

As a result of a lot of networking and informational interviews in the fall, I managed to obtain an internship opportunity with the Essential Medicines and Pharmaceutical Policies unit of the World Health Organization. So now that the first year of my MBA is over and summer is almost here I find myself in a small apartment in the city center of Geneva.The view from down the street from my apartment on Rue MuzyI started my internship today and will be here for 3 months. I will be working on analysing data from pharmaceutical surveys and writing narrative and technical reports. There are three other interns working in my unit (from Australia, Britain and the US). The WHO offices are about a 20 minute bus ride from my apartment and the journey takes me across the lake, past the Cornavin train station and through all the other UN buildings.My ID badgeI think I'll really enjoy the summer here as my office window overlooks the alps, I can run along the lake Geneva after work, cheese and wine is abundantly available at all the supermarkets, and there are many opportunities at WHO to expand my knowledge base on public health and development issues.View from my office windowStay posted for futures accounts of life of an intern in Geneva.
