The Russians Are Coming! Or: The Belarusians arrived with us!!

Unusual return from Bangkok yesterday! After a lovely weekend with Ollie Durrant and his friend Matt Jones, we watched a film being made outside our B&B over breakfast - it was a war film with soldiers, old vehicles and a protest rally of some some sort. Unfortunately, rain forced a break in filming.We were waiting to board the plane and noticed a group of burly men in suits lurking in the corner - they appeared to have minders or organisers and seemed Russian. We were quite surprised to find them a few rows in front of us in "Economy" on a budget airline! We were even more surprised when we saw a reception committee waiting for us on arrival at Phnom Penh airport, complete with fire engine and ambulance!Instead of the usual stopping place, our plane taxied over to the VIP section and the awaiting steps. We then saw a large sign welcoming the trade delegation from Belarus! They rolled out the red carpet and we were all delayed while the delegation made their way down to the reception committee. We were a bit disappointed when they rolled up the carpet again and put us all on a bus back to the usual disembarkation area!Why are they here? Selling tractors apparently!Most of the men in the second picture below, were on the plane...interesting they flew economy on a budget airline!!
