Christmas always comes with its own traditions, unique to each culture and each family. InAustraliapeople have bbqs on the beach. InIreland(some of us) swim in the freezing sea. And inGuyana……...….well in Guyana I think everyone sleeps after the massive job of cleaning and redecorating one’s house that goes on. I’m not sure after one Christmas I can write about a universal Guyanse Christmas, but I’ll let these photos tell the story of my unique Christmas. Our neighbour's pre-Christmas cleaningPrisoner's steel band rocking at The Palms Christmas partyChristmas at the speech dept.Ministry of Health Christmas partyPepperpot - the famous local Christmas dishLooking smart for churchCheck out my earings which double as Christmas tree decorations!Christmas day at the Redcross orphanage Bebi, my wonderful host for dinnerBrad: mine and Santa's favouriteChilled evenings at home with friendsAnd for those of you sick of Justin Bieber, here are a few Christmas alternatives that have become a staple of mine over the last month (thanks to Dan the music man for these).I saw Mommy kiss a dreadlocksRich man for ChristmasI've never seen a white ChristmasHappy Holidays Everyone!
