Walking back from my run this evening in the National Park I was struck by how much life is lived out on the streets here. There’s the football guys exercising on an open space at the side of the road, the kid sitting in his yard doing karaoke, the women walking home from work in their heels, the men tooting by on their scooters……….And knowing Georgetown the way I do now, I can also guarantee that half the people onthe street aren’t going anywhere or doing anything, they’re just liming and enjoying the calm hustle and bustle of the evening. There’s so many noises, and comings and goings, and it’s all done under the calmness of a red sky silhouetting roadside coconut trees. Out of houses comes music, out of shops come the catcalls of men......and out of me comes a big smile. Sometimes it’s great to be a streetwalker.Sunday cricket on the street outside my housestreet selling
