No water = no electricity

Nairobi residents have been advised that we will be on an electricity rationing program: 2 days per week we will be without power from 6 am to 6 pm (with the exception of the central business district and a few other select areas.)This is due to low water levels in dams which supply the country's hydro-electric power. The program started on Wednesday and will be ongoing until water levels come back to their regular levels. (The 'rainy season' is just ending and the next short rainy season doesn't come until November ... so it could last a long time.)
