Here are the coppery-tailed coucal, red-headed weaver, white backed night heron (quite rare), white-fronted bee-eater, blue-cheeked bee-eater,cattle egret (we saw literally hundreds), Nico holding a tortoise, Kudu (female looking through males horns) and giraffe covered in red-billed ox-peckers.Well last weekend we had a fantastic trip! We came into Rundu on Friday evening (terrible journey with the roads very bad, although excitement as 30km of the new tar road now joins on to the old road). Set off again Saturday morning and by 2 pm were over the border in Botswana at Drotsky. We spent the whole of the afternoon on a boat on the river bird watching. It was terrific and we saw Pel's fishing owl, in fact 2 of these very rare birds. Sadly impossible to photo but as you can see got some great pictures of lots of them. Bird-watching here is a bit too rewarding! I thought the whole point was to be extremely patient and quiet for hours and perhaps get a glimpse, through binoculars for a millisecond. Here you motor along chatting to your friends and the birds are colourful, plentiful and unless you actually yell or wave frantically don't fly off!The work is going well and although we aren't mad about the rainy season as there as millions of mosquitos and the roads are terrible, it is wonderful to see Namibia so lush and beautiful. Mpungu is like a Welsh valley and it's hard to imagine that by November it will be desert again.That's all for this post as I'm letting the pictures d
