Lunch today was a goodbye meal for Marrisa who is leaving the college after three years of hard work. She will be attending Kunming University at the end of this month to continue her studies but firstly will spend a couple of weeks with her family in Northern Yunnan. Her parents are farmers and not in a position to give her much support. Her studies at the college finished in June and she proudly received an award for outstanding achievement at the year end graduation ceremony. She has spent the last two months working seven days a week privately tutoring some young junior students in order to help finance her way through university. I have only known her for a few months but in that time I began to consider her a friend.She is a very dedicated, bright, hard working young lady and I am sure she will have much success in all that she does.
