Welcome to the rainy season in Cameroon! I have never seen such rain... really... like... did you know it’s possible to rain sideways? At the start of the rainy season (back in April), there would be the odd, intense downpour... but it would only last maximum twenty minutes and dry up so quickly with the sun, you wouldn’t even have realized a brief monsoon had just passed through. Usually when thathappened, people would just stop, take shelter wherever they were, and then carry on afterwards. But these days, some days... it pours all day... it’s adding to the lush, green gardens and cleaning up the streets... but seriously, don’t go outside, unless you plan on swimming and/ or slip n’sliding in the mud... ya... mud, and lots of it. Sometimes streets are completely impassable... but the waterfalls on the cliffs are really flowing beautifully... and there’s a cool freshness to the air.Top Ten things to do in the rain in Cameroon...1. Try to decipher the hand signals you’re receiving from your neighbours across the street... I think they’re saying... ‘it’s raining like crazy’.4. Eat5.
