Long time, I miss you! I had meant to update this blog yonks ago but other stuff seemed to get in the way and relying on a wonky dongle is usually not foolproof for uploading photos. Anyway, here we are again. It’s been a busy month or so what with trips to Kerewan, football matches, wrestling, school visits etc but quite a productive one. Teaching at Gambia College is great fun though I’ve worked out that there’s a correlation between the temperature rising outside and the increase in men’s body odour in our cramped classrooms. The ladies, of course, are equally fragrant but normally of nicer things. It really is getting very warm indeed. We’re not expecting rain until the end of June so I’m guessing that it’ll be like living in a pressure-cooker by then, but at least I’m only 45 minutes from the beach if it all gets too much. The downside of teaching 650 students is that, as of today, I now have 650 end of term tests to mark. I wrote the test so tried to keep it simple to mark but I still estimate 2 minutes per test multiplied by 650 papers is….too much like hard work. I’ll be burning the candle at both ends for a couple of weeks, quite literally in this country.
