One of the holding cells for male slaves on the Ille de Goree, just off Dakar, before they were transported overseas…the enormous (150 feet high) new monument to African renaissance in Dakar which, interestingly, has its back to Africa and points towards Europe…a ‘Titanic’ moment in humble homage to the enormous (did I mention it was enormous?) monument, though unfortunately nobody we asked would lend usa baby to proffer skywards…a new mosque by the beach in Dakar.
