Karibu Club at the Canadian Embassy

After work yesterday, I went to the Canadian embassy for the first Karibu club of 2010. It’s an event organized by staff at the embassy on a voluntary basis and happens on the first Thursday of each month. Canadians, and their partners or friends, get together around the pool at the embassy to network and chat while enjoying drinks and snacks. Given the distance from my work, it takesme about 2-2.5 hours to get there depending on traffic and weather conditions (rain can at least double the length of your journey in this city), but it’s worth it. We met a few new nice people and ran into many who I knew from last year as well.Afterward, we headed over to Westlands to meet some friends and then called it a relatively early night… eager for the weekend to officially begin.
