The local brew here is Tusker, a refreshing lager type beer whose marketing plays on loacal sentiment with slogans like 'refresh your roots' and 'seriously Kenyan'. However if you read the writing on a can of Tusker you will find that it may have been brewed in Dundalk, Northern Ireland 'under the supervision of East African Breweries, Kenya'. This fact this is commented on in a number of blogs but does not seem to worry the advertising copy writers. This is a story which confirms your worst suspicions about the advertising industry, beyond that your views may vary depending on if you are in Kenya or Dundalk, of course maybe you are thirsty and just want a beer.
