We have had a lovely time with Matt and Challin (Matt'a girlfriend) who joined us in Phnom Penh during our 2nd. language training. They then came to Siem Reap with us and are about to pop into Mongkul Borei to see our house on the way home.Matt has to fly from Bangkok and Challin from Phnom Penh.Unfortunately (to say the least!) my hernia operation has gone wrong so after a month& a half of intermittent agony I have been sent by the VSO doctor to see a surgeon in the Bankgok Nursing Home. We travel today to our house and wil then go to Bangkok (with Matthew) tomorrow (Wednesday). I have an appointment on Thursday morning and will most likely need surgery again. Let's hope they know what they're doing and get it sorted this time - it's certainly not what we had hoped for out here.Fortunately, we heard this morning that VSO will give Alison compassionate leave so she can come with me without losing holiday allowance.We may be a bit out of contact once we are in Bangkok but will try to find a way of sorting that out when we are there. Wish me luck!!!
