My lovely boss, the Inspector of primary education in the Maga arrondissement, decided to better equip me for my trips in the bush and a potential career as a rice grower by giving me a traditional hat for working in the fields. He also promised that if I stay in Maga he would build me a hut in his compound and lend me his youngest daughter (aged three) to sleep with me, so I wouldn't be lonely (everyone is very worried that I sleep alone in my house, which is considered to be very strange behaviour).
