At the suggestion of Diane another VSO volunteer in Kampala - she's working as a midwife Tutor at the International Hospital - we have just spent Easter at Lake Nabugabo with Diane and her daughter Sarah. We set off on Good Friday morning and were at the Lake early in the afternoon. The weather when we arrived was great and we were soon swimming - reassured by the sign on the tree above - which says: "no danger of crocodiles"!On the way to Lake Nabugabo we crossed the Equator - the cheesy picture above is proof! As you can see from the above picture we found Sand Beach resort peaceful and tranquil - ideal for a chilled Easter breakSarah spent hours on the swingsA family of donkeys roams the Sand Beach resort - keeping the grass short - however a whiff of water melon had them bothering Diane and Sarah for their slice! This is Abdul - he drives a Kampala special hire taxi and he agreed to take us to Lake Nabugabo and back. Here he is organising our greengrocery shopping at a brilliant road-side stall on our way home.
