Soccer Insanity

Mark sent around an email inviting all the volunteers to enter a World Cup pool. The bets started to come in fast and furious with Brazil being the obvious favourite. I know nothing about soccer so asked George to give me some suggestions about promising teams that weren't the favourites just so we all didn't put our money on the same team. George can always come up with something that sounds wacky but in the end turns out to be right on the button. His unusual pick for the day was Ivory Coast because they have 2 good players. I was going to pick them, however, I had simultaneously sent messages to two of my Facebook friends who had already changed their profile pictures to their favourite team - England - and asked them who they thought would really win. Facebook war resulted. The sparks were flying. All I can remember is one enthusiast writing "WINTER Bunty, WINTER" and she gave some very interesting reasons why Brazil wouldn't win this time round. The bets probably aren't all in yet, but mine is; I chose Holland. Now we wait and watch.
