Calabash is amazing. It's a weekend long literary festival in Treasure Beach featuring local and international poets and novelists who participate in workshops and performances and attracts an artsy audience so there are lots of interesting people to watch. When we needed a break from sitting in our plastic chairs under the giant tent listening to poems and literary excerpts we found the ocean-side hammock at Jakes empty. The day was fantastic. Sunny and warm with a lovely sea breeze and not a drop of rain all day. Jamaica truly is paradise.
