Welcome to my blog!  I'm delighted that you've somehow found your way here, whether your visit is deliberate or accidental.I created this blog to provide friends, family and other followers with a window to my experiences working with CUSO-VSO in Zambia.  From July 2010 to January 2011, I will working with the Mazabuka District Council to advance their Integrated Development Plan toward the final stages.  While I have a general idea of what this will involve, there are still many unknowns to work out upon arrival.  I'm still living and working in Ottawa, but as time goes on, I will post stories and photos on my blog that I hope will pique your interest.  I think you can even be an official "follower" by clicking on some links at the side of the page.  I've always wanted groupies... so please sign up.  :-)As some of you may (or may not yet) know, CUSO-VSO is an organization that sends volunteers from Canada and the US to work on high-impact projects in the developing world.  For many years, CUSO and VSO were independent organizations with similar mandates.  A few years ago, CUSO became a member of the VSO Federation, which is headquartered in the UK.  There are a number of other VSO recruitment bases around the world, namely the Netherlands, Ireland, India, the Philippines and Kenya/Uganda.  I encourage everyone to check out the CUSO-VSO website atwww.cuso-vso.org.
