On Sunday afternoon, after enjoying our usual coffee at Java House, five of us hopped in a car and headed to the Tayiana Garden Spa and Stables, which was the venue for a monthly picnic-style music festival called 'Blankets and Wine'.Everyone is invited to bring their own picnic lunch, wine and blankets and enjoy an outdoor concert featuring several well respected Kenyan artists. This month it was Sally Oyugi (World/Afro Fusion), Adel‘Dela’ and Muthoni (who coincidentally, is a friend of our Italian friend Marco.) Some people spent the afternoon dancing in front of the stage, while others preferred to laze around and take in the music from the comfort of their picnic blankets spread out on the grass. While listening to the music, we spent the afternoon chatting, relaxing on the lawn, sipping wine and snacking on samosas, cheese& crackers and of course chocolate! We went away feeling refreshed and revived, ready to face another week in the chaos that is Nairobi. And to top it all off, 10% of proceeds to go support the Red Cross, so that makes an already great day even better.
