Lobster season opened up in Jamaica on 1 July. The season closed a week after we arrived here so we haven't been tempted because we know its frozen. You never see lobsters swimming in tanks by the front doors as you do in just about every restaurant in Nova Scotia, lobster season or not. Yesterday evening we were offered our first fresh lobster in a restaurant but you won't believe the price - $4,900 for a plate of two tails. That's $59.61 Canadian. In all fairness, that did include GCT (sales tax) and our waiter, I believe his name was Kevin, assured us they were large tails. I'm still laughing. Needless to say, nobody at our table was tempted.
