This morning, we met our Kenyan friend Rosemary atMavuno Churchin South C. We could hear the lively music from outside and as we walked into the white high-ceiling luxury tent, several hundred people sang along with, danced to, and cheered for the band at the front. The music was truly incredible!(After finding seats, we whispered to one another how much we wished that our apartment was beside this church so we could enjoy the incredible music from both services on Sundays.)Some dressed fancily, others in jeans; everyone seemed engaged in the lively service. This church seems to have found a way to make the services lively, down-to-earth and relevant. For example, the theme for March was entitled“Man Enough?” and itsmusic was inspired by visiting popular clubs and bars and learning what types of music people looked to for release.
