The Interim Independent Electoral Commission is taking full advantage of SMS technology for tomorrow’s referendum on the proposed Constitution. Between tomorrow and Friday, all Kenyans will have access to the preliminary referendum vote results simply by sending an SMS to 3007 with the name of the Constituency in the body of the text message. This is intended to enhance both accountability andtransparency, throughout the voting process and tallying of results. Final results will be announced on Friday evening at the Bomas of Kenya.This is yet another innovative use of SMS as a communications tool in Kenya!
