The Employers’ workshop today saw us all dressed in our smartest clothes and didn’t we scrub up well! It was the first time most people met someone they would be working with so it was very useful.! I found out that I will be picked up at 7.30am tomorrow morning ready to start work- there is a meeting of allthe staff so this will be a great opportunity for me to meet those people who work out in the field.(Almost) tearful goodbyes were said to Cathy and Louise as the workshop ended. And then we all had to go and pack in preparation for our own departures. At dinner we gave a present to the staff at the Guest House to thank them for looking after us so well. They were really pleased and there were a lot of choruses of‘Murocoze cyane’. We played Frisbee before going to the bar in the evening with some of the staff. It turned into a learning tool as we counted in Kinyarwanda how many times we could throw it without dropping it. Alphonse would have been so proud! At one point there was a power cut so we attempted to play it in the dark. We didn’t get much past ‘rimwe’ at that point! When the electricity was restored, someone who shall remain nameless, threw the Frisbee into the light and broke it! Luckily it was time to go to the bar anyway. (It wasn’t me by the way although it does sound like something I would do!)As I am leaving at 7.30 tomorrow morning I said goodbye to everyone tonight. It was actually quite sad to think that I wouldn’t be seeing everyone again for a while. But I’m sure we will keep in touch- we need somewhere to stay as we travel round Rwanda!
