It has been a very busy couple of weeks and as a result I have neglected the blog. So here is a summary of the past two weeks:My organisation is probably getting a new volunteer in January to focus on Marketing. I have been in email contact with someone and fingers crossed everything will go to plan. Unfortunately as volunteers arrive, others leave and three people are leaving Gitarama before December. We said goodbye to Annemeik recently and Ken and Moira are leaving in the next couple of months. I will be gutted to see them go.I had a successful confirmatory visit recently. I was amused at all my colleagues telling my Programme Manager how fat he had got now that he is married. I’m still not used to this being a compliment. On Saturday we went to a Halloween party. I went as a cat. There were some interesting costumes there including Turbo King, a VSO chair, and Alex from Clockwork Orange. In Country Training started on 31st October. It was great to see everyone and hear how they are getting on. It was a very busy week but we managed to fit quite a few games in which I was very pleased about. We learnt how to play‘Werewolf’ which was a great game. We also managed to fit in a visit to Carwash, a Karaoke bar, and Sole Lunya, an Italian restaurant in Kigali. The pizza was amazing! On Saturday a group of nine of us went to Kibeho, a Catholic Church near Butare where the Virgin Mary is supposed to have appeared. We then spent a very enjoyable evening in Butare where we saw Ugandan dancers and partook in some dancing ourselves.
