My favourite wine can be bought from a localEnotecain Pula. Enoteca is the name for wine shops where you can often buy wine 'off the tap' from barrels as well as bottled. The local one I buy, for just€1.60 a litre, is a red calledCannonauand goes down very well with most meals, especially with meat, cheese and pasta dishes. In my opinion though it goes well with anything! It's a smooth full bodied wine and has no bitter taste at all. It's very popular with the locals and even visitors I have introduced to it say it's one of the best wines they have ever had. Inside the local enotecaMade from the Cannonau grape, it is the most popular wine in Sardinia, and mostly produced in the centre of the island. Most people turn up with their containers of all sizes to get their supply. I usually fill up a two litre container which lasts the two of us about a week. A glass of red wine each day with our meal goes down very well indeed!
