My birthday- Cambodian stylee!

On Saturday I spent woke up and my adoptive Cambodian parents (Jan and Keith) had a little pressie for me - I picked them well ;o) I then celebrated my 24th year cramped up in the pick up truck back to Phnom penh to meet the other volunteers after our week away. Claire had bought me hair straightners from the market and so she was a goddess to me for the day! We went out for dinner and then headed to find some ladyboys so that we could have a bit of Brighton birthday fun! And it was a lot of fun! We ended up in heart of darkness which is an notorious nightclub (and pretty much the only nightclub in phnom penh) but it didn’t live up to its reputation, it was pretty normal which is nice! It was good having a night out since in all our placement towns bed time is at 8 o’clock and we wake up with the sun, it’ll be a different kind of year! On the Sunday we recovered from our hangovers in style at a hotel swimmingpool which is free to use as long as you buy $5 of food… I think a bit of luxury is needed on birthdays!
