John, Tariq and I went to the Serena for food and it was amazing! It was a Mongolian buffet and then there was also a cheese board (with more than one type of cheese!) and a massive pudding selection. I was in heaven. This meal has got me very excited about mine and Pete’s Christmas breakfast at the Serena in Gisenyi. I’d heard very good things but now I know it is going to be good!I went to VSO for the meeting today which went well. I also bumped into Cathy so Cathy, Emily and I went for lunch at a very nice cafe near the VSO office. Seriously, if I lived in Kigali all my money would be spent on food! Although that may not be a bad thing as when I saw one of the VSO staff members today the first thing she said was‘have you lost weight?’ I seriously hope not as I didn’t have much to lose in the first place. My housemates don’t think I have but it’s difficult for them to tell as they see me every day. I think Pete will be the best judge of whether I have lost weight or not. Most of his trip seems to revolve around food so I’m sure I will have bulked up a bit by the time he leaves! It was hard finding a blog title today as I seem to have written a lot of posts related to food and I’ve used all the obvious lyrics-maybe I need to focus on something other than food. That’s not going to happen this weekend though as the Gitarama crew are coming round for food and a film on Saturday so I’m sure there’ll be more about food next week. Having said that, I’m making the foodso it’s probably going to be a case of the less said the better!
