It only dawned on me this weekend that Pete may not be able to get here because of the snow in London. As it is about 25 degrees here and there is little sign of Christmas (although a few trees have started popping up, they look a little out of place) I hadn’t even considered that the weather in the UK might affect my travel plans. My brain finally came to its senses on Saturday night when I realised that the planes had to be flying for Pete to actually get here! Fingers crossed he makes it here on Tuesday.Pauline came to ours on Friday night. There was a bit of confusion as to whether Umuganda was on Saturday given that it is supposed to be next Saturday which is Christmas. Pauline didn’t want to risk being stuck in Ngororero on Saturday morning as she was flying to Ireland on Saturday evening. It was lovely to be able to see her before she went to Ireland. She was very excited!Saturday, I had the Git Crew coming round for meal and a movie night. I did my shopping in the market, which is becoming less scary and more exciting the more that I go. No doubt soon it will feel like the mundane and Tescos will seem like the novelty! Suzanne and I spent the afternoon making banoffee pie, pasta and sauce and salad. There were 8 of us for dinner and it was absolutely lovely. As far as I’m aware, no one was poisoned by my cooking and everyone had a good time. Julia 2 (there are now two Julias) had brought Christmas crackers with her so we had them and it all felt very Christmassy. We watched Finding Neverland which was a very good film.I spent Sunday making a film for a funding pitch for work and wondering if Pete was actually going to be able to get here. There was only 5 of us for Sunday dinner but it was lovely to see everyone and it was great fun. The restaurant put a lot of effort into Moira and Karen's salads...Only one more day in work and then Pete should arrive. If not, I will be spending my time trying to get a refund on the gorillas and finding something else to do for Christmas!
