Another New Year

It was great to get back on the bike today and out for a run yesterday in warm weather after spending two cold weeks in England. I really enjoyed going back to see family and friends over the Christmas period, it was lovely to see the snow too but the dreary skies started to feel a bit oppressive after a while, I am pleased therefore we're currently having a sunny winter here in Sardinia, lets hope it lasts all the season.I feel as though 2011 as crept upon us so quickly, I know it's a cliché but time really does fly as you get older making me even more conscious of the wise adagecarpe diem! Yesterday whilst I was running facing the beautiful mountains that overlook the village where I live, I was thinking of  how we are all just passing through this life, perhaps only the equivalent of  the blink of an eye in perspective of the mountains' lifetime. So many of us make life into such a big deal, we can forget how to really live and enjoy it just by the way we think about it. Getting wrapped up in our thoughts can take us away from life and the moments we should have enjoyed and made the most of have gone and passed....carpe diem 2011.
