An early start on the 27th as we were heading to Nyungwe. We were lucky as the journey, which is supposed to take six hours only took four and a half. Unfortunately we had the seats behind the driver where there is limited leg room and then the driver decided to put his seat back so we had even less leg room! The following day we did the colobus monkey walk which brilliant. Our guide, Emy, was determined we would get to see them properly so we went trekking through the rain forest which was amazing. In the afternoon Heather and Julia2 arrived so we had dinner with them and caught up. On the 29th the four of us did the waterfall walk. As we were paying we asked how difficult it was and were told that there was only one hill and it was optional. Not true! It was a great walk but I was exhausted by the end of it! In the evening we went to Heather and Julia2’s guest house and had a true feast. We spent the evening playing cards and drinking our favourite tipple, Mutzig with sprite. On the way back Pete was amazed at all the stars. I’m used to seeing them now but he was thrilled to see how many here were and how clear they are. You don’t realise how much light and other pollution hides the stars.
