One of the things we need to do for the IDP is to have a proper dialogue with the landholders south of town to explain the Council's need for a by-pass road, and to secure land for future development.  I consider this to be one of our most pressing tasks. To proceed, it seems important to know the boundaries of all the land parcels to the south.  Accordingly, I decided it would be a good idea to to have a look in the old map cabinet in our drafting office.  Oh my.After searching for some time, I never really found what I was looking for.  However, I did manage to find the Mazabuka Development Plan dating back to 1977, plus a number of hand-drawn lot plans for various parts of town.  In their current storage environment unfortunately, the mylar sheets are becoming quite brown and faded.  What will be the fate of the town's ancient mapping?  And how about the 2011 plan 34 years hence?  :-)Ye Olde Mappe CabinetThe Mazabuka Development Plan, circa 1977
