It’s a sunny warm and fresh morning in Zambia and finally the rains seem to be subsiding. I’m starting to feel nervous about the future as my placement is coming to an end and it seems strange going back to the UK, particularly after the sad event of last year and the uncertainties of job prospects. Not sure how I’m going to cope, so I’m sat on my ‘small’ veranda of my house trying to catch internet from a signal on the hill and hoping that this post doesn’t cut out before I submit it online.I thought I’d write a quick message as I’m being cheered up by the presence of 2 small monkeys in the tree opposite me. They are throwing fruits at some ugly crows who are stealing eggs. Eggs from a nest that I’m not aware of. Whose eggs they are I don’t know, but somehow there is animal warfare just right in front of me and I’m gutted there is no battery in my camera to take a snapshot. Just take it from me, it’s so surreal to be writing from here on a March morning in 2011 and I’m witnessing the African sunrise with the presence of monkeys and I’m downing my cornflakes in preparation for my bike ride to work. Only in Africa!
