When trying to search for my blog online I realised that I had spelt Ethiopia wrong and instead had written 'tarasethopianadventure'. Although the dodgy name may have meant that the Ethiopian Government were more likely to ignore anything I wrote on it, I thought it probably meant that most other people would ignore it too! Not to mention the fact that the poor spelling made me look very stupid! I was therefore pleased to find I was able to change the blog name quite easily and it has all been corrected now!In defence of my poor spelling I would like to offer the following two excuses1) I was typing really quickly2) I'd like to think I was mixing the words Ethiopia and Utopia together after a girl in year 8 asked me on Friday if it was true that I was going to 'Utopia'.I'm sure this isn't the first or last spelling error I will make on this blog but I thought as it was the 'name' of the blog it was quite important to correct. I'm afraid any other spelling errors I make you will just have to ignore, especially as I will not be able to access this blog while I'm in Ethiopia and so will not be able to edit any mistakes (I will just be e-mailing posts).Last night I spent several hours reading blogs written by people who had been to the town I'm moving to or had done similar work to me in Ethiopia. I have to admit it did kind of freak me out! It took forever for me to get to sleep as all the comments whirred about in my head. One guy said he kept thinking of ways he could make himself ill (such as drinking water straight from the tap or walking through long grass in hope of a snake bite) just so he could get sent home! Later on he described sitting in the dark (no electricity) using 7 candles to boil water to make porridge for dinner as he had run out of Kerosene for his stove! He did thankfully have some more positive things to say in other posts but still... yikes!So... it seems the next few years will certainly be an adventure but I'm not so sure about the UTOPIA. I'll keep you posted on that!
