Since getting back, I have mostly been listening to....Bob Andy'sThe Games People Playbecause theHoly Jah Dovesused to do a brilliant cover of it - I always loved it, it's a great track. The photo up top is me and Kitou at Kassim'slast gig at One Lovewhere, naturally, they played it.Bob Marley'sRedemption Song - the acoustic version. One of my favourite songs which again the HJD's covered very well (have to follow the link for that one, can't embed from YouTube - it's worth it though).Another Bob Andy classic,Life:Morgan Heritage's classicYou Don't Haffi Dread, which again HJD's covered. I'm also a huge fan of their songSame Roots Rastaman.Shaggy'sRepent, though not strictly reggae, reminds me ofseeing him liveat Amahoro Stadium with Lies last year :)Back to reggae, Jacob Miller'sTenement Yard:And Eddy Grant'sHope Joannahave also been heard drifting in the freezing cold evening air. The latter because I remember watching him on DVD singing it at Mandella's 90th in Hiyde Park from the comfort of my room in Kigali and thinking 'wow, that's fantastic!' - they did good.At which point I have to mention yet another Eddie Grant (my goodness he was a bit of a dish wasn't he) one that HJDs covered and always had me dancing, even thoughI Don't Wanna Dance;)Anyway. There are 101 other songs I've been playing a lot at the moment:Bring me Your Cup(which always reminds me of D. - think he'll remember why ;)), HJD'sMaguruwhich was always the last song of the night and will never be forgotten as long as I have strength left to dance, pretty much everythingBob Marleyever sang, someCecile Kayirebwafrom her albumAmahoro- which mostly isn't on YouTube - especially the songsIndumokanyoandInzozi(apparently she's Jovial's aunt!) and many others, most of whom I can't find online :(But I'm going out on a song that D. used to turn off sometimes if I was around, but actually I really like it, it's catchy and I'm big enough to cope with the lyrics ;) Nasio FontaineBlack Tuesday:
