After 2 glorious days on Lake Kariba, we’re now back on Cairo Road in the capital, Lusaka. The streets are bustling with market traders, passersby and more of those speedy ‘buses’. I don’t think I like the big city anymore. It’s dirty, smelly and congested. The only nice thing about Lusaka is the lovely Jackaranda trees which are in full blossom – a beautiful purple haze of tree blossom breaks up the somewhat 1960s, grey Lusaka skyline. We travel onwards to the Commonwealth Youth Centre which was my home when I first arrived in this country nearly a year ago. I can’t believe I’m back!
