Rosie and I were given a tour of Siavonga to see some interesting development projects by local VSO volunteers Ben and Al, who have been busy building a school and some interesting irrigation systems. I’m actually impressed with their hard work and so are the local kids, who seem to show their appreciation by smiling and laughing a lot and running towards my camera at every opportunity.I’m surprised anything gets done here as it’s so hot. After an exhausting day Rosie and I relax in the swimming pool. It’s the only safe place to cool down as there are too many crocodiles in the lake and the Kariba dam is just too deep.
